Green Room Gallery

SLAC maintains an active gallery to showcase and sell the work of local visual artists in rotating exhibitions inspired by productions on our stage. The Green Room Gallery is a space for conversation, enjoyment, and reflection, but most importantly, it is another way for SLAC to support Utah artists.

Post-Play Discussions

Following the first Sunday matinee of each play, SLAC invites the audience to stay for a free discussion with the artistic team. Thoughtful conversation among our audience and artists brings a deeper understanding of and connection to the issues and themes particular to each play.

Panel Discussions

Free and open to the public, SLAC’s panel discussions explore the big questions raised in each play. Guided by the themes of a particular play, SLAC invites scholars and experts from the community to serve as panelists. Our audience is a vital part of these conversations, connecting the stories onstage to contemporary life. We cherish our partnership with Utah Humanities Council which supports these events.

Free ZAP Tuesdays

Thanks to Salt Lake County’s Zoo, Arts, and Parks program, Free ZAP Tuesdays allow SLAC to say thank you to our community. Free and open to the public, these nights were established to accommodate those with financial obstacles preventing them from experiencing live theatre. These free Tuesday evening performances are always well attended and warmly received. Many thanks to ZAP for supporting SLAC’s work.

Community Partnerships and Outreach

Each year we expand and serve as a greater resource to our community by forming community partnerships inspired by the themes of our plays. This season we were delighted to partner with Utah Humanities Council, Utah Pride Center, Art Access, Her Campus, Washington Elementary School, Salt Lake County Animal Services, The King’s English Bookstore, Flourish Bakery, Ballet West, and Equality Utah.

These organizations are crucial to Utah’s growing culture and we are proud to share them with our audience. We honor these partnerships online, in our host speech before each performance, on our postcards, and in our playbills. In addition to these partnerships, SLAC is proud to donate space to organizations like the University of Utah’s Sociology Department, The Inn Between, Don’t Panic, Listen!, and acting classes – led by our stellar community of acting teachers – for girls from Eva Carlston Academy who are overcoming trauma.
