STREAMING via SLAC Digital

$20 for 48-hour streaming window | Also included as part of SLAC season subscription.

The inhabitants of a small farm in Alabaster, Alabama are no strangers to destruction and loss. But when an outsider arrives to help them make sense of the past, they must confront their mortality and deal with the trauma head-on. Through laughter, tears, and even a couple of talking goats, Audrey Cefaly weaves a darkly comic southern tale of redemption that examines how one reassembles the pieces of a broken heart.

ALABASTER is produced at Salt Lake Acting Company as a part of a National New Play Network Rolling World Premiere. Other partnering theaters are Florida Repertory Theatre (Fort Myers), Capital Stage (Sacramento), 16th Street Theater (Berwyn IL), Kitchen Dog Theater (Dallas), ShrewdProductions (Austin), Know Theatre of Cincinnati, Phoenix Theatre (Indianapolis), Williamston Theatre (Michigan), and New Jersey Repertory Company (Long Branch). From March 12 through 20, Salt Lake Acting Company is pleased to present the world premiere of FOUR WOMEN TALKING ABOUT THE MAN UNDER THE SHEET by Elaine Jarvik.

On the morning of February 21, 1895, the day after the great man died, Susan B. Anthony shows up on his widow’s doorstep. She is there to grieve — but is she also feeling guilty? FOUR WOMEN TALKING ABOUT THE MAN UNDER THE SHEET is an exploration of feminism and race, asking “what compromises should you make in pursuit of a cause?”

Get a sneak peek into a recent rehearsal featuring actors Colleen Baum, Latoya Cameron, Susanna Florence, Tamara Howell, and Yolanda Stange in the gallery below.

Tickets are now on sale and can be purchased here or by calling 801-363-7522.
